Montreal artist David Lafrance was born in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu in 1976. In 2001, he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and drawing at Concordia University where he also was awarded the Guido Molinari Prize in Studio Art. This painter, sculptor and musician has had many exhibits across Canada and his works can be found in the CPOA (Collection Prêt d’Oeuvres d’Art) collections of the Musée du Québec and the Bibliothèque Nationale. His experimental paintings are devoted to solemn and romantic parodies. Inspired by folklore and popular art, he uses traditional materials with a contemporary approach.
