"My paintings suggest dreamlike landscapes on the edge of abstraction and they explore the links that can be established between the landscape and the inner life. In my current work, I try to make visible the simultaneous feelings of distance yet presence, and of fragility, receptivity, aspiration, and loss. By a certain persistence of delicate tones, I try to embody what I like to call the power of gentleness."
