Born in 1974 in Winnipeg, Dil Hildebrand lives and works in Montreal. The artist works in a range of media including oil and acrylic paints, and charcoal. Winner of the prestigious Royal Bank of Canada National Painting Competition in 2006, Hildebrand has gained a reputation for being among the most talented Canadian painters of his generation. His work has been featured in duo exhibitions at the Truck Gallery in Calgary, at Next in Chicago, and in important group exhibitions such as “Idées de paysage 2” at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, “Carte Blanche Volume 2: Painting” at MOCCA in Toronto, and “EntreVoir” at the galerie de l’UQÀM. His paintings can be found in numerous public and corporate collections as well as museums including the Canada Council Art Bank and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.
